ALCORE Pilot Plant Enters Infrastructure Preparation Phase
We’re making great progress on our world-first proprietary process to produce industrial chemicals, including hydrogen fluoride, from a by-product from the aluminium smelting process. We’re leasing an existing facility in Bell Bay, Tasmania as our Alcore Technology Centre, at a reduced rate from Rio Tinto, adjacent to their aluminium smelter.
The facility is ideal for our continuous pilot plant, but we did have to first demolish and remove some legacy equipment, which is now complete. We’re now preparing the facility to receive the pilot plant equipment packages.
Infrastructure upgrades are being designed according to equipment specifications and Australian regulatory standards.
Auxiliary systems have been manufactured by external suppliers, which will be delivered to site and installed after equipment foundations and utilities are prepared.
Detailed mechanical designs and fabrication drawings have been completed for two of three major process equipment packages, with the remaining design expected by early November. These will be reviewed by Australian-registered professionals to ensure compliance with Australian Standards.
All three major equipment packages are expected to be delivered in Q1 2026. This will be followed by 2-3 months of construction time.
We’re exceptionally pleased with this progress on our world-first technology, and we will continue to provide updates as the pilot plant progresses towards commissioning.
