ABx Group Managing Director Dr Mark Cooksey has been featured on Channel 7 Tasmania Nightly News (Tuesday 21st January 2025), following an announcement 83%-owned subsidiary ALCORE will lease an existing facility adjacent to Rio Tinto’s Bell Bay Aluminium smelter to establish a continuous pilot plant.

The pilot plant will aim to demonstrate its world-first proprietary process to produce industrial chemicals, including hydrogen fluoride, from a waste product created during the aluminium smelting process. 

ABx's agreement with Rio Tinto Aluminium Limited is complementary to a recent announcement with the Tasmanian Government which has provided indicative terms and conditions for a $1 million, conditional loan for the pilot plant.
